Hawerchuk earned a spot in the NCAA Regionals with his victory at the Northeast Conference Championships

Central Connecticut sophomore Eric Hawerchuk was selected by the NCAA Division I Men's Golf committee to participate in the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships.  The Orangeville, Ontario native will play at one of six 54-hole regional tournaments.  He is one of five individuals slated to compete at the Galloway National Golf Club in Galloway, NJ.  Hawerchuk earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regionals with his win at the Northeast Conference Championships.  He shot a four under 212 in the three-day, 54-hole event on the International Course at ChampionsGate Golf Club in ChampionsGate, FL.  

Hawerchuk, who shot 68-69-75 to win wire-to-wire at the Northeast Conference Championships, and the four other individuals at Galloway National Golf Club will join a 14-team field that includes back-to-back NEC champion Sacred Heart.  The regional tournaments will be conducted May 14-16.  The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams will advance to the finals, which will be played May 26-30 at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.
