The Central Connecticut Athletics Department held its annual Spring Alumni Golf Outing on Friday afternoon, May 11.  The Blue Devil Classic is the largest fundraising event of the year for the department. 

A field of 150 golfers took part in the event, with current coaches and administrators joining alumni and donors for 18 holes of scramble golf.

The event was held on the white and red links of Stanley Golf Course in New Britain, CT.

Following the round, participants returned to campus for an awards ceremony and dinner held in the Consitution Room of Memorial Hall.

Among the awards at the dinner were the Letter Winner of Distinction and Honorary Letter Winner honors.  Head athletic trainer Kathy Pirog (CCSU '81) was honored as the 2012 Letter Winner of Distinction for her 25+ years of service to Central Connecticut students as an athletic trainer and educator. 

Chief Human Resources Officer Anne Alling received the Honorary Letter Winner award for her contributions to CCSU throughout her career, which will be coming to an end in a few weeks with her retirement.
