Central Connecticut State University President Dr. Zulma R. Toro announced today that Tom Pincince will serve as the Interim Athletics Director. Pincince, who is currently in his 18th year in the Athletics Department, has served as the Assistant Athletics Director for Communication and Media Services.
"My decision was based on feedback from members of the CCSU community, including athletics coaches and staff, and from several alumni and donors," Toro said on Wednesday. "Another heavily-weighted factor was the in-person interview. In discussing priorities and challenges for the Athletics Department, Tom demonstrated an understanding for the role he would step into and shared a vision for leading the Blue Devils during this transitional period."
Pincince is a 1997 graduate of Stonehill College and received his Master of Science Degree in Communication from CCSU in 2014.
"I'm extremely excited and thank Dr. Toro and Vice President Chris Galligan for the opportunity to lead during this transition," Pincince said. "I've spent much of my professional career as a Blue Devil and look forward to working with the Central family, our coaches and staff, and especially our student-athletes in this new role."
