The Central Connecticut men's basketball team returns to action at home on Saturday hosting Coastal Carolina at 1 p.m. in Detrick Gym. The Blue Devils, 3-7 overall, and Chanticleers (5-6) have never met on the hardwood, but will meet twice in the next 14 days. Central hosts Coastal on Saturday at 1, and will then travel to Coastal Carolina to play again on Jan. 3 at 7 p.m.
The Blue Devils host Coastal Carolina in the first of two meetings in the next two weeks between the two teams. Following today's game the Blue Devils will host Albertus Magnus next Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. Following that game Central hits the road to play Coastal Carolina on the road on Jan. 3 in the final non-conference game of the season for the Blue Devils. Following the trip to Coastal, Central will open Northeast Conference play at home vs. Wagner on Jan. 9. CCSU plays its first four NEC games at home.

The Blue Devils committed 31 personal fouls leading to 46 free-throws attempts for Hofstra in a 72-67 road loss. Despite the trips to the line Hofstra made only 22-of-46 and the Blue Devils were in the game until the end. They held the Pride to 41.5 shooting in the game, but 17 offensive rebounds by Hofstra and 27 second chance points led to the Blue Devil loss. Junior Faronte Drakeford scored a career-high 23 points in the game, and classmate Kyle Vinales had 21. The Blue Devils shot well from the field in the game, 47.2 percent, including 53.8 percent in the second half (14-of-26).
