The Central Connecticut State University men's golf team is currently in second place at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships after one round of play on Monday. The Blue Devils put forth a five over par 293 in day one action, with sophomore Kevin Josephson leading the way, carding a one under par 71 (33-38) on Monday. He is currently tied for third place in the tournament.
Dartmouth is two strokes up on CCSU, recording a score of 291 in round one, while it is Davis Mullany of the Big Green that leads all individuals. He scored a five under par 67 on Monday. Sophomore Greg Beloin finished one storke back of Josephson, as he carded an even par 72 (39-33) for the first 18 holes of the tournament and is currently tied for fifth. Junior Eric Hawerchuk and freshman Dan Fanion are tied for 18th after recording three over par 75s for the first round. Junior Sam Pelletier rounded out the Blue Devil golfers, shooting a 76 (39-37) and is tied for 28th.
CCSU and the rest of the competition will finish play on Tuesday.
