Junior men's golfer Kevin
Josephson earned his third Northeast Conference Golfer of the
Week honor on Wednesday, it was announced by the conference
office. Josephson, who has earned medalist honors twice this fall,
tied for the top spot at the 76th Annual NEIGA Championship on
Monday and Tuesday. He finished second in the tournament after
falling in a playoff.
Josephson advanced to a playoff at the 76th annual NEIGA
Championships, but fell in the second hole to finish second in a
field of 182 golfers. The three-time NEC Golfer of the Week shot an
even par 72 in his first round of the tournament, before shooting a
one under-par 71 in the final round. His 143 strokes tied him with
Adam Vaccari of UConn following the final round. Vaccari then
defeated Josephson on the second playoff hole.
The Blue Devil was named an All-New England Selection after his
impressive second place finish. Josephson's performance led Central
to a third place team finish, making it the fifth time in six years
that the Blue Devils have finished among the top-five teams.
