Central Connecticut men's golf sophomore Monte Mullen earned his second Northeast Conference honor this season after being named NEC Golfer of the Week on Wednesday afternoon.
Mullen shared the individual championship on Tuesday at the St. Peter's Peacock Invitational with an even-par 72. It is the second year Blue Devil's first win of the spring and fifth top-ten finish of the 2012-13 season. As well as top-ten finishes, Mullen leads the team in scoring average with an impressive 74.8 over 22 rounds.
The Blue Devils finished second in the team standings at St. Peter's, registering their fourth straight top-ten finish of the spring season. Central shot a team score of 301 at the 18-hole event which was played at Neshanic Valley Golf Club in Neshanic, NJ.
Next, Central Connecticut will compete in the Bryant University Prisco Boulet Shootout on April 28th, a prelude to the 2013 NEC Tournament.
