Senior Matthew DeJohn and junior Monte Mullen were both named to the Northeast Conference Men's Golf All-Conference Team on Friday. The pair helped the Blue Devils to a third place finish in the NEC Championship this Spring and a New England Championship in the Fall.
Mullen led the Blue Devils at the NEC Championship, carding a 78 and 68 (146) for a fourth place finish. The junior played a 74.2 average per round, and claimed the NEIGA Individual Title in the fall.
Mullen posted four top-five finishes including his NEIGA title and a second place finish at the Shootout at River Landing to open the Spring season. He finished in the top-20 eight times on the year, including his final five and seven of his final eight tournaments. He was third in the CCSU Fall Invitational.
DeJohn was named All-NEC Second Team after taking home medalist honors in a shootout versus Bryant in a final tune-up before the NEC Championship. DeJohn averaged a 75.1 per round score this season.
DeJohn also finished first at the FDU Intercollegiate shooting a 75-71 to lead all scorers. It was one of five top-10 finishes on the year for the senior. He finished tied for 11th place at the NEC Championships to end the season.
