Men's Soccer Falls to Vermont

The Central Connecticut men's soccer team dropped their season opener on Friday night.  The Blue Devils fell to Vermont 2-0 at Willow Brook Park.   Junior goalkeeper Anthony Occhialini made five saves in the loss.  Vermont improves to 1-0 while the Central falls to 0-1

Vermont scored a goal in the first half when junior Juan Peralta dribbled from the corner and delivered a shot to the upper-corner on the far side of the net.

In the second half the Catamounts scored off of a throw-in.  Sean Sweeney's throw reached Yannick Lewis on the far side of the field where he headed it into the lower corner of the net.

The Blue Devils made several runs, but were unable to crack the Vermont defense.

Junior Reece Wilson launched five shots in his Blue Devil debut, but Central was unable to convert any of his or their other three shots.

The Blue Devils will return to action next Friday when they travel to Yale University.  That game will begin at 3 p.m.
