Central Connecticut junior Reece Wilsonwas named adidas/Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week on Wednesday afternoon. Wilson helped lead the Blue Devils to a 1-1 week in conference play. CCSU is now 9-8 on the season and 6-3 in NEC play.
Wilson scored his fourth and fifth goals of the season in last week's matches. On Tuesday, he scored a goal in the 84th minute of play to tie the game between the Blue Devils and Knights at 1-1. He followed that by assisting on Thomas Obasi's game winning goal in the sixth minute of overtime. Central trailed the Knights for more than 75 minutes before scoring twice in less then 15 minutes to earn the victory.
Tuesday's victory gave the Blue Devils nine wins on the season and six in conference play. With 18 points on the season the Blue Devils are tied with Monmouth for first place in the NEC.
On Friday, Wilson netted the Blue Devils lone goal in a 2-1 setback against Quinnipiac.
Wilson leads the Blue Devils this season with five goals and 13 points.
Central will host St. Francis (NY) on Friday in the their final regular season game. The Blue Devils have the opportunity to reach seven conference victories for the first time since 1998.
