The Central Connecticut men's soccer team dropped to 4-4 overall on the season with a 3-1 loss on the road at the University of Hartford on Wednesday night.  The Hawks improve to 4-3-2 overall with the victory.

The Blue Devils struck first on the first goal of the season from freshman Filosmar Cordeiro.  Cordeiro took a pass from Keir Hannity 25 yards out and then beat the Hartford keeper to the right post.  The goal came just 3:33 into the match and gave the Blue Devils the quick lead.

Hartford responded, however, and scored twice before halftime to take a 2-1 lead.  The first goal came at 18:42 as Jovani Simms scored his second goal of the season, beating Central senior keeper Josef Abele, to tie the game.

Aleko Petridis broke the 1-1 tie with his first goal of the season with under two minutes to play before halftime.  Petridis scored with 1:46 left before the break to give the home team the 2-1 lead.

The Hawks added a third goal with just over five minutes to play in the game to make it 3-1.  Romario Jones scored his first goal of the season to give Hartford the two goal edge.

While Hartford held the overall egde in shots in the game, each team managaed four shots on goal.  Abele made one save in the loss for the Blue Devils.

The Blue Devils are off for six days before traveling to Dartmouth to face the Big Green on Tuesday night, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m.
