Freshman Aaron Radden won the 200 meter dash as Central Connecticut State University placed 12th out of 34 scoring teams at the New England Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend. Radden broke his own school record again as he crossed the line in 21.03 seconds. His time is the 11th fastest in Division I this season.

Radden scored 12 out of the Blue Devils' 19 points. The freshman also took seventh place in the 55 meter dash, recording a time of 6.48 seconds. CCSU's 19 points were good enough for 12th place overall. Connecticut took home the team crown, tallying 140 points in the meet. Rhode Island and New Hampshire took second and third place honors with scores of 69 and 60, respectively.

Sophomores Sam Alexander and Matt Berube were responsible for the other seven points for Central. On Friday Alexander placed third in the 5,000 meter run, while Berube was eighth in the long jump. Alexander's time of 14:48.13 broke the school record in the event.

Six other Blue Devils put forth top 20 performances on Saturday. Sophomore Rashad Williams and freshman Keith Boyd-Carter competed in the field events for CCSU. Williams tied for 16th in the shot put with a distance of 44 feet 1.25 inches, while Boyd-Carter recorded a distance of 41 feet 8.75 inches to tie for 15th in the triple jump.

Junior Josue Paul joined Radden in the 55 meter dash, but failed to qualify for the finals. He placed 11th in the semifinal heats, finishing in 6.62 seconds. Sophomore Michael Waterbury finished just out of the points, recording a time of 2:33.60 to place ninth in the 1,000 meter run.

Sophomore Jeremy Schmid and a pair of freshmen handled the distance events on Saturday. Schmid crossed the line in 4:19.88 to place 20th in the one mile run, while freshman Mohamed Hrezi took 25 in a time of 4:23.43. Freshman Craig Hunt ran an 8:41.15 3,000 meters to place 19th in the event.
