Central Connecticut freshman Aaron Radden was named Road Runner Sports Northeast Conference Track Athlete of the Week for his performance this weekend. The Blue Devil sprinter earned weekly NEC honors for the third time this year. Radden received the honors twice during the indoor season before being named Most Valuable Performer at the conference championships.
Radden won both the 100 and 200 meter dashes for the second meet in a row at the Yale Springtime Invitational on Sunday. The freshman placed first in the 100 with a time of 10.86 seconds and took first in the 200, crossing the line in 21.59 seconds. Radden was also a member of the Blue Devils' 4x100 meter relay team that placed third in a time of 42.33 seconds.
The Waterbury, CT native, who won both sprinting events at this winter's NEC Indoor Championships, recorded seasonal bests in both the 100 and 200 meters. Both times qualified him for IC4A Championship competition. Radden's 200 meter mark of 21.59 seconds is the best in the conference to date.
Radden and the Blue Devils will compete in the NEC Outdoor Championships on May 1 and 2 in Emmitsburg, MD.
