Junior Jamal Fruster of the Central Connecticut men's track and field team competed Sunday at the Boston University Last Chance Meet in Boston, MA. Fruster ran both the 200m and 400m dash.
In the 200m dash, Fruster clocked a time of 22.52 for a new indoor personal-best time. He placed 10th out of 22 runners and finished fourth in his heat.
Fruster, who owns the CCSU indoor record in the 400m dash (48.31), raced the event in a time of 49.63. He earned 12th place overall for his efforts out of 22 competitors.
Fruster was the only male competitor for CCSU. He was joined at the meet by junior Ronea Saunders of the CCSU women's track and field team. Saunders, who recently set a new CCSU indoor record in the high jump of 1.82m at the USATF Championships in Albuquerque, NM, did not successfully jump on Sunday.
