The Central Connecticut men's track and field team is scheduled to compete this weekend, May 3-4, in the 2014 NEC Outdoor Championships in Coraopolis, PA. This year's competition is hosted by Robert Morris University and scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday with the 10,000m run.

Fans can follow all of the action via the @NECTrack Twitter account as well as via LIVE STATS.

Last season, CCSU finished fourth out of 11 teams at the NEC Championships. Junior Jamal Fruster was named to the All-NEC First Team last season and looks to defend his title in the 400m dash, which he earned last year by crossing the line in a time of 48.29 seconds.

Junior Andrew Hill was named to the All-Conference Second Team for his performance in the 10,000m run last season. He placed second with his time of 32.13.55.

This outdoor season, the Blue Devils have earned three NEC weekly awards including two NEC Track Athlete of the Week accolades awarded to junior Brian Biekert. Biekert has displayed impressive performances in the 3,000m steeplechase and the 1,500m run this season, breaking CCSU records in both events.

Senior Craig Hunt was also awarded NEC Track Athlete of the Week once this season for his performance in the 10,000m run at the Stanford Invitational on April 4.
