Central Connecticut assistant track and cross country coach Eric Blake recently competed in the 21st World Mountain Running Trophy Race in Valais, Switzerland. The United States finished in third out of 27 countries and Blake was 23rd overall in a field of 157.
Blake recorded a time of 58 minutes and 22 seconds over the 12 kilometer long and over 1000 meter climb of a course to finish third for the U.S. New Zealander Jonathon Wyatt won the race in a time of 55:04. The Italian team won the overall team race with a score of 43 to the United States's 76.
