The Central Connecticut men's cross country team finished in third out of eight teams as they hosted the Ted Owen Invitational at Stanley Quarter Park on Saturday. Junior Ry Sanderson was the top finisher for CCSU, coming in fifth overall with a time of 25:47 on the five mile course.
Central's other top finishers included freshman Dan Watson in 21st with a time of 27:14, freshman Kevin Tiernan in 23rd coming in three seconds later at 27:17, freshman Sam Alexander in 29th with a time of 27:37 and sophomore Rob Weston rounding out the Blue Devil top five finishing in 27:44 to place 33rd overall.
The Blue Devils finished third in the team results with 90 points, coming in behind New Hampshire and Boston University who tallied 28 and 40 points, respectively. The individual winner of the men's race was Boston University's Eric Ashe, recording a time of 25:39.
In the women's five kilometer race Boston University placed five
runners in the top 10 overall and finished with 25 points to get
the victory. The Terriers' top runner, Andrea Walkonen, won the
individual race in a time of 16:49 to set the course record at
Stanley Quarter Park.
