Junior Ry Sanderson was the first finisher for the Central Connecticut men's cross country team at the Murray Keatinge Invitational on the campus of the University of Maine on Saturday. He finished the five mile race in a time of 25 minutes and 34 seconds to place 17th, while the Blue Devils came in eighth place overall.
Other top runners for CCSU were freshmen Kevin Tiernan and Dan Watson, as well as sophomore Rob Weston. Tiernan placed 52nd with a time of 26:54, while Watson came in 60th finishing the race in 27:28. Weston was two spots behind Watson with a time of 27:42 for the Blue Devils.
Central finished in eighth out of the eight teams in competition at the Murray Keatinge Invitational, but was only four points behind seventh place New Brunswick. Dartmouth won the overall team race with 28 points. The Big Green notched five runners in the top nine to finish ahead of second place Yale and third place New Hampshire. Dartmouth All-American senior Ben True won the individual race with a time of 23 minutes and 57 seconds.
