After winning just four games in 2007-08, CCSU went 18-14 this season. The turnaround is the best in NCAA Division I play. The Blue Devils finished 12-6 in the Northeast Conference, matching a program best for wins. They placed second in the stadnings after being slotted 11th in the preseason coaches' poll. Sophomore Kerrianne Dugan earned second team All-NEC honors, while freshman Shontice Simmons became the sixth player in seven seasons to garner an NEC All-Rookie team selection. The second place finish in the regular season standings helped guarantee a spot in the Women's National Invitation Tournament. With their WNIT berth, the Blue Devils appeared in postseason play past conference tournament action for the first time in the program's NCAA Division I era.
