Central Picked Third, Dugan Earns Preseason All-Northeast Conference Honors

The Central Connecticut State University women's basketball team was picked to finish third in the Northeast Conference preseason coaches' poll, announced Thursday. It was also announced that Junior Kerrianne Dugan, a second team All-NEC selection a year ago, was named to the five-member NEC preseason All-Conference Team. Dugan and the Blue Devils had the best turnaround in the NCAA last season, winning 18 games and reaching the Women's National Invitational Tournament for the first time in school history.

Dugan played and started in all 32 games last season. The Waterford, CT native averaged 11.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game to lead CCSU to its most wins since the 1989-90 season. Dugan totaled 92 assists and 50 steals in 2008-09 and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the USF Shootout and the Rhody Classic.
