Central Connecticut senior Kerrianne Dugan was named Choice Hotels Northeast Conference Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Dugan scored a team-season-high 26 points in the Blue Devils, 61-48, win against New Hampshire on Sunday. Her 26 points also matched her career-high which she set on Jan. 12, 2008 against Mount St. Mary's. Dugan's 26 was the highest single game total for any NEC scorer this week.
The Waterford, CT, native helped keep the Blue Devils perfect at home with her performance Sunday. In addition to her 26 points, Dugan grabbed seven rebounds and made a pair of steals for the Blue Devils as they limited New Hampshire to 12 points in the second half.
Dugan was 5-11 from the floor and 4-4 from the free throw line in the first half as she scored 14 of her game-high 26. In the second half Dugan was only one of four from the field, but she converted 9 of her 12 free throws in the period, as the Blue Devils outscored the Wildcats 29-12 after the break.
Dugan played a game-high 39 minutes, including all 20 of the second period, as the Blue Devils bounced back from consecutive losses to Rutgers and Monmouth. She ended the game with 26 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist, and was 13 of 16 from the free throw line in the contest.
Dugan has scored 107 points this season which brings her career total to 1125, putting her in seventh place on CCSU's career list.
Dugan and the Blue Devils will look to earn their first conference win of the season on Wednesday night at Fairleigh Dickinson, tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
