The Central Connecticut women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Friday night.  The Blue Devils (2-1) fell to Hartford (3-0) by a score of 76-62.  Senior Jalcyn Babe and sophomore Jessica Babe both scored 15 points to lead the team.

Trailing 13-4, the Blue Devils got their offense going in transition.  A steal by Babe and a nice pass ahead to Jessica Babe led to a layup.  Another steal, on the next Hartford possession, resulted in a layup by Harrington off a nice pass from freshman Nicole FergusonJaclyn Babe added a jumper to cap the run and cut the deficit to 13-10.

Harrington scored 8 of Central's first 17 points in the game.  Her first score of the game was the first basket of her collegiate career.

Babe scored Central's final four points of the half to help close the gap.  Babe's basket and free throws came in the final 13 seconds of the period.

The Blue Devils kept the game close throughout the second half, but were never able to tie the Hawks.
