Blue Devils Fight For Five Straight at the Mount on Monday Night

The Central Connecticut women's basketball team looks to extend its four-game win streak at Mount St. Mary's on Monday, February 19 inside of Knott Arena in Emmitsburg, MD. Earlier this season the Mountaineers stunned the Blue Devils in their home-opener in New Britain, CT 68-56 on December 29.

GAME NOTES | CCSU | MOUNT

LAST TIME OUT • Central held Wagner to just 19.2 percent shooting in the second half, out-scoring the Seahawks 28-18 to erase a 16-deficit and win 66-64. CCSU was led by junior Kiana Patterson who posted a double-double with 24 points and a career-high 12 assists. The Blue Devils sht 25-for-55 (.455) from the floor and connected on nine three-pointers.

12 ASSISTS IN THE BOOKS • Patterson's career-high 12 assists at Wagner on Feb. 17 tied the fourth-most in CCSU women's basketball history. The last time a player dished out 12 assists was back in 1994 by Paige Martin. Patterson's added 24 points markin the first time a player a posted a double-double in points and assists since Jessica Babe did so in 2013 against Rider (15 pts/10 asts).
 
MOST RECENTLY FOR MOUNT • Mount St. Mary's enters Monday night's contest on a two-game losing streak, last falling to Bryant on Saturday, 67-64. Katrice Dickson scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed seven boards to lead the Mountaineers. The Mount stand at 5-9 in a tie for eighth place with LIU Brooklyn on the NEC leaderboard.
 
SERIES HISTORY • The Mount hold a 26-12 advantage in the all-time series with the Blue Devils. Monday night, the two squads will meet for the 39th time in program history. Central last topped the Emmitsburg, MD crew last season at home, 68-58, on January 9, 2017.
 
THE FIRST MATCH • The Blue Devils came back to take a late third quarter lead after trailing by 12 points against the Mount in the first meeting, but fell 68-56. The Mount was led by Caroline Hummell who posted a game-high 21 points. CCSU shot just 29.6 percent from the field, but won the battle of the boards 45- 41, including 21 offensive rebounds.
 
FLAWLESS FEBRUARY • The Blue Devils remain unbeaten in the month of February with a record of 4-0. Central is out-scoring its opponents by a margin of 7.8 points per contest, draining 41.6 percent of its attempts. Defensively CCSU is holding its opponents to 36.9 percent from the floor.
 
UP NEXT • The Blue Devils will welcome the league's top two contenders, Saint Francis U. and Robert Morris, to New Britain, CT this upcoming weekend. CCSU will first face the Red Flash on Saturday, Feb. 24 for Senior Day inside Detrick Gymnasium at 1:00 p.m. Central will then play the Colonials in its final home game on Monday, Feb. 26 at 7:00 p.m.
