Central Connecticut shot matching 347s to finish in seventh place at the Mount Holyoke Invitational. Junior Lucie Sarochova tied for third on the individual leaderboard to pace the Blue Devils at the Orchards Golf Club in Hadley, MA. She lost her day one lead after carding a final round 83. Amherst held off the hosts for the team title, while Middlebury sophomore Courtney Mazzei earned medalist honors by a three stroke margin over Wellesley sophomore Kimberly Eaton.
Sarochova finished the weekend with a two-day score of 159. She was four strokes behind Mazzei, who shot 82-73. Eaton posted rounds of 78 and 80. CCSU senior Deborah Kim tied for 13th, shooting 83-81. She had 17 pars over the weekend. Sarochova finished the event in the top-10 in par three and par four scoring, birdies (4), and pars (18).
Blue Devil junior Natalie Jones shot 96-89, while sophomore Chelsea Woods carded rounds of 92 and 94. Senior Lisa McCormick (109-100) and sophomore Jennie Dyson (113-101) rounded out the CCSU contingent.
Amherst collected the team title with a two-day score of 657, shooting 328-329. Mount Holyoke shot 329-334 for second.
The Blue Devils are off until Oct. 10 when they travel to the two day Rutgers Invitational.
