Women's Golf In Sixth After Day Two at NEC Championships

The Central Connecticut women's golf team shot 349 at the Northeast Conference Championships and dropped two spots to sixth place on Saturday. The Blue Devils were led by freshman Stephanie Bednar in round two action, who shot 81 on the par 72 Champions Gate Golf Course in Orlando, FL.

CCSU was passed by Robert Morris and St. Francis (PA), shooting 312 and 327, respectively. Long Island continues to lead the competition with a two day score of 639 (318-321). The Blue Devils total score of 681 is 15 strokes back of fifth place St. Francis (PA).

Bednar's second round 81 gives her a score of 167 and is in 17th place after two rounds of play. After leading Central Connecticut with a 78 on Friday, freshman Anna Ausanio carded a 90 on Saturday and is currently in 18th with a total of 168.

Junior Chelsea Woods and senior Natalie Jones recorded identical scores in round two. The former is tied for 23rd after her 89 gave her a total of 172. The latter is currently tied for 28th with a total of 174, after recording her 89 on Saturday.

Central Connecticut will return to action for the final day of competition on Sunday.
