The Central Connecticut women's golf team shot a day two score of 331 and moved up one spot to finish eighth overall at the Towson Women's Invitational on Monday. The tournament was hosted by Towson University and held at the Hillendale Country Club in Phoenix, MD.
The course was a par-72, 5,945 yars course that had seen a lot of rain in the past few weeks. Several areas of the course could not be mowed because they were too wet, and the tournament had a weather delay during Sunday's first round.
Junior Katie Reid had the best round of the tournament for Central on Monday, shooting a 77 for a two-day total of 160, good for a tie for 15th place.
Junior Anna Ausanio shot an 85 on the tournament's second day, and finished in a tie for 25th with a two day total of 164. Freshman Albrianna Farnum carded her second 86 and finished in a tie for 43rd with a 172.
Junior Stephanie Bednar bettered her Sunday score by six strokes and shot an 83 on Monday, matching Farnum's 172 for the tournament. Sophomore Elisabeth Beloin had an 89 for a total of 174.
The Blue Devils, under newly appointed coach Carly Ludwig, will travel to Dartmouth College for a tournament on Sept. 17-18.
