Jill Pomposi, a senior on last year's Central Connecticut State University lacrosse team, was named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Squad for 2009. The 407 student-athletes from 152 division one, two and three institutions were recognized for their excellence in the classroom during the 2008-09 academic year.
Pomposi and the rest of the honorees were nominated by their institutions and had to have a GPA of at least 3.5 or be in the top 10 percent of their team to be considered for this award. In addition to being a four year starter for the Blue Devils, Pomposi has proven her abilities off the field with these accolades. She majored in biology and minored in both Spanish and mathematics for secondary education.
