Lacrosse Looks to Stay Perfect in NEC

The Central Connecticut women's lacrosse team will look to continue its perfect record against Northeast Conference opponents on Friday afternoon at Arute Field.  The Blue Devils (9-6, 7-0 NEC) will host Mount St. Mary's (6-9, 5-2 NEC) in a game that will have a large impact on the NEC playoff picture.

CCSU is currently tied with Monmouth for first place and the Mountaineers are tied with Bryant for third in the NEC standings.

The Blue Devils have already clinched a trip to the NEC Tournament, the first berth in the history of the program, but the team still has a great deal to play for over the final two games of the regular season.  A victory in Friday's game against the Mountaineers and a victory over Monmouth on Sunday would give the Blue Devils their first NEC regular season title and the right to host next week's conference tournament.

Regardless of Friday's outcomes, the winner of Sunday's game with Monmouth will claim the #1 seed in the NEC Tournament and the privilege of hosting the event.

Friday's lacrosse game will begin at 4 p.m. and Friday's game will begin at noon.

Fans that cannot make it to Arute Field can watch the game live on NECFrontRow.com.  Also, following the lacrosse game on Friday night the CCSU football team will play its annual spring game the Blue-White Scrimmage.
