Women's Lacrosse Drops Home Finale to Robert Morris on Sunday

The Central Connecticut women's lacrosse team dropped a 12-5 home decision to Robert Morris on Sunday, falling to 2-12 overall on the season and 11-4 in Northeast Conference play.  Sophomore Morgan Sinton scored twice for the Blue Devils in the loss.  With the win Robert Morris improves to 7-8 overall and 3-2 in league play.

Prior to the game the Blue Devils honored the two members of their Senior Class.  Seniors Marissa Cotroneo and Kylie Sullivan were honored on the field prior to the game as they played their final career home game.

The game was tied 4-4 at halftime as Sullivan scored with 2:48 on the clock to tie the game at four.  Robert Morris had led 3-1 with 11:58 to play, but Central's 3-1 run in the final 9:34 tied the game before the break. Junior Carson Adelberger and sophomore Molly Coogan also scored during the run for the Blue Devils.

Robert Morris answered in the second half, holding the Central attack to just one goal and scoring the first five goals of the half to climb out to a 9-4 lead.  Sinton's second goal of the game cut the lead to 9-5, but the Blue Devils would get no closer.

Freshman Meaghan Allard made a career-high 14 saves in the loss.  She had seven saves in each half.  Adelberger had a goal and an assist.

The Blue Devils are back in action next Friday on the road at Mount St. Mary's at 3 p.m.
