Senior goalkeeper Erin Herd was named to the ESPN Academic
All-District Third Team on Thursday morning. Herd, who posts a
5-2-4 record in net this season, is a biomedical engineering major
for the Blue Devils. The Blue Devils, 9-6-4 overall and 6-2 in
league play, have one regular season game remaining on Sunday at
Quinnipiac before heading to the Northeast Conference Tournament
Herd has been impressive in goal for the Blue Devils this season, although she has missed much of the last few weeks with an injury. She is 5-2-4 in net for CCSU this season and posts a goals against average of 0.68. She has allowed just eight goals in 1064:57 minutes of play in her senior year.
Herd, a native of Coffs Harbour, Australia, has made 50 saves for the Blue Devils. In her career she has 11 shutouts and posts a goals against average of 0.94 in 29 games played.
Herd and the Blue Devils have one regular season game remaining this season, on Sunday, November 2 at 1 p.m. at Quinnipiac. They will then move on to the NEC Tournament on Friday, November 7 at a site to be determined following Sunday's conference action. The Blue Devils have qualified for the tournament for the seventh straight season.
