Connecticut scored three times in the first 23 minutes as the Central Connecticut State University women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision on the road to the Huskies on Monday night. The loss is the first of the season for CCSU. Senior Leah Blayney scored her third goal of the season in the loss. CCSU is off until Friday when they play on the road at Holy Cross.

Less than four minutes later Linda Ruutu scord the first of her two goals to give UConn the two goal edge. Ruutu scored again at 23:03, her third goal of the season, and the Huskies led 3-0.

Blayney's goal, her third of the season, came at 36:21 off an assist from Beth Lloyd. Her shot from outside the box beat Connecticut goalkeeper Ally Mancino in the top right of the goal, making it 3-1.

Casey would finish the game with five saves for the Blue Devils. She suffered her first loss of the season, dropping to 2-1-1 on the year. Connecticut outshot CCSU 19-11 in the game, including 8-4 in shots on goal.
