Women's Soccer Moves to 2-0 in NEC Play with 2-0 Win at Bryant

and Brittany Emin each scored their second goal of the season and the Central Connecticut State University women's soccer team moved to 2-0 in Northeast Conference play on Friday night with a 2-0 win at Bryant. The Blue Devils are now 4-5-1 overall on the season with their second consecutive victory. Senior keeper Caity Casey posted her second shutout of the season in the victory. The Blue Devils play again on Monday night at Yale at 7 p.m.

Lloyd struck first for the Blue Devils scoring at the 35:19 mark of the first half to give the Blue Devils the 1-0 lead. HEr shot came from deep and beat the keeper to the left side of the net. It was her second goal of the season. Karise Hilt had the assist on the first goal.

Emin scored her second goal of the season on a break-away in the 86th minute to give the visitors the 2-0 adge. Senior Ciara Crinion had the assist on Emin's goal. Emin and Lloyd scored a goal in the same game for the second time this season. They also had goals in last week's loss at Columbia.

CCSU was playing at Bryant for the first time. The Bulldogs are new members of the NEC. Games against the Bulldogs count in the league standings, however Bryant in not eligible for post season play. CCSU moves to 2-0 in the NEC with the victory.

Casey made three saves in goal to post her second shutout of the season. She is now 4-5-1 on the year.

The Blue Devils, now 2-0 in league play, play again on the road on Monday night at Yale beginning at 7 p.m.
