Nathalie Nilsson Named adidas/Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week
Freshman midfielder Nathalie
Nilsson was named the adidas/Northeast Conference women's
soccer Rookie of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday. Nilsson
and the Blue Devils went 2-1 last week with a pair of wins over
Holy Cross and Columbia. They stand at 2-3 on the season and will
play again on Friday at 4 p.m. at Providence.
Nilsson helped the Blue Devils post a 2-1 week, including their
first two victories of the season, en-route to her first adidas/NEC
Rookie of the Week accolade. Nilsson notched three assists in two
games for the Blue Devils, two of which resulted in game-winning
goals.
Nilsson's first tallies came last week Tuesday when she passed for
two helpers in a 3-2 victory at home over Holy Cross. The
midfielder assisted on the first goal of the game to give Central
the 1-0 lead. The freshman struck again with the score tied 2-2,
launching a free kick to teammate Beth
Lloyd who headed it in for the game winner.
On Friday, Nilsson continued her offensive assault on the pitch by
passing another game-ending goal in the 2-1 Blue Devil win over
Columbia.
