The Central Connecticut women's soccer team will be collecting cash donations for victims of Hurricane Harvey at its CCSU Soccer Tournament on Sunday, September 3, at CCSU Soccer Field in New Britain. Members of the Blue Devils' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be set up at the entrance collecting cash contributions to be given to the American Red Cross.
The weekend tournament will feature four of the top teams in the Northeast, beginning on Friday night. Sunday's action will have Harvard kicking off against St. John's at 3:30 p.m. and CCSU will face Connecticut in the day's second game at approximately 6:00 p.m.
The American Red Cross goes wherever they are needed to provide shelter, emergency supplies, meals and snacks, and volunteers to help support people affected by disasters. Fans interested in donating, but unable to attend the games can contribute at www.redcross.org.
