Women's Soccer Invites Vermont to New Britain Friday Night

The Central Connecticut women's soccer team invites the America East's, Vermont Catamounts, to CCSU Soccer Field on Friday, Sept. 15. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. and will be streamed live on NEC Front Row.

Series History • The Burlington, VT crew holds a 6-0-2 overall series advantage against Central. The last time the two squads met on the Blue Devils home turf dates back to the 2003 season. The contest ended in a 3-3 draw in double overtime.

Last Timeout • CCSU heads into Friday looking to snap its four game losing streak, last falling to Navy. Vermont finished in a 1-1 tie on Tuesday night against Marist on its home field.

Player Watch • Four Catamounts have two goals or more this season led by junior Brooke Jenkins with three thus far in the non-conference. Senior midfielder Sarah Martin leads UVM in points with four assists and two goals. 

Call On Covello • Blue Devil rookie Jenna Rae Covello is the team leader in points (4) and goals (2) scored this season. Both of Covello's goals came in CCSU's 2017 season-opener on the road at Massachusetts as the Blue Devils ran off with a 3-0 spoiler.

Next Up • The Central Connecticut women's soccer team will have a quick turnaround this weekend after Friday night's game with UVM and will travel to Brown on Sunday, Sept. 17 to challenge the Ivy League squad at 3:00 p.m.
