Central Connecticut senior Erin Crowley received her second straight Northeast Conference Swimmer of the Week honor for her performance at the USA Swimming Short Course Nationals this weekend. The Plainville, CT native competed against the best in the country and posted times better than any other NEC swimmer.
Crowley recorded a time of 24.45 in the 50 freestyle, which
would have been good for tops in the conference if she did not swim
to a 24.33 finish earlier this season. She also posted a near NEC
best time in the 100 free, touching in at 52.98 at the national
event. Her conference best time of 52.10 still stands to be
beaten.
The Central swimming and diving team will continue their season
after the mid-season break when they travel to Worcester, MA to
compete against Holy Cross and Vermont. The meet is scheduled for
Sunday January 11 at 1:00 p.m.
