CCSU Swimming Falls to Miami 166-73

The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team was defeated by the University of Miami on Saturday, 166-73. Senior Erin Crowley won the 1,000 freestyle in 10 minutes and 24.22 seconds. She was also third in the 100 free, touching in at 54.36. Sophomore Megan McGorry and freshmen Alex Czaplicki and Mallory Miller each took home a second and third place finish at the Whitten University Center Pool.

McGorry was second in the 200 IM, finishing in 2:12.58, and placed third in the 200 butterfly, touching in at 2:10.97. Czaplicki was second in the 200 free and third in the 200 breast. She timed in at 1:55.38 in the former and 2:29.94 in the latter. Miller was the top scorer Blue Devils in both diving events. She took home second in the three-meter, scoring 203.10, and placed third in the one-meter totaling 201.15 points.

CCSU will next be in action on Saturday January 31 when they host Wagner at 2:00 p.m.
