Erin Crowley and Mallory Miller Awarded NEC Honors Once Again

For the second week in a row senior Erin Crowley and freshman Mallory Miller were awarded with Northeast Conference honors for their performance this weekend against Miami. Crowley has now been named NEC Swimmer of the Week four times, while Miller has received NEC Diver of the Week accolades three times in her first season as a Blue Devil.

Crowley was the only Blue Devil to record a first place finish against the Hurricanes on Saturday. The senior won the 1,000 freestyle in 10:24.22, which is the top time in the conference to date. She also placed third in the 100 free, touching in at 54.36 seconds.

Miller was the top diver for CCSU in both events against the University of Miami on Saturday. The freshman finished second in the three-meter dive, totaling 203.10 points, while placing third in the one meter event with 201.25 points. Miller finished behind the Hurricanes' 2008 Olympian Kelci Bryant in the one meter dive.

Crowley and Miller, along with the rest of the CCSU swimming and diving team, will look to continue their success in 2009 when they host Wagner on Saturday January 21. The 2:00 p.m. meet will take place at Jack Suydam Natatorium in Kaiser Hall at Central Connecticut State University.
