The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team dropped its first meet of the new year on Sunday afternoon at Vermont. The Blue Devils fell 218-73, sophomore Taylor Friedmann led the Blue Devils by earning first place points in three events.
Friedmann earned first place points in the 200 Free, 500 Free, and 100 Free. She posted a time of 1:52.83 in the 200 Free and then returned to the pool to finish the 100 Free in 54.30. Friedmann finished off her day with a 5:01.72 performance in the 500 Free, she finished the meet with all three of Central's event victories.
Hannah Packer earned second place points in the 100 Backstroke, she posted a time of 1:01.36. In the 50 Free, Erin Massey touched the wall second with a time of 25.77.
On the diving boards the Blue Devils received a fourth place finish from Madison Vestergaard in the one meter and a third place finish from from Sam Smolicz in the three meter event. Vestergaard posted a score of 184.04 in the 1M, and Smolicz scored 196.64 points in the 3M.
Central finished second in the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay.
The Blue Devils will return to action next Saturday at Florida International.
