The Blue Devils placed fourth at last year's NEC Championships after finishing in the top three in each of the 14 previous seasons in which CCSU has been a member of the NEC. This season, Central was tabbed to finish second (tied with Saint Francis U) in the annual preseason poll of the NEC coaches.

At last year's championships, sophomore Jessica Goldman swept the diving competition, earning two gold medals and NEC Diver of the Meet honors as a freshman. CCSU diving coach Michael Trueworthy was named NEC Diving Coach of the Year.

This season, the Blue Devils posted wins over Sacred Heart and St. Francis Brooklyn on January 25 at the Jack Suydam Natatorium in New Britain, CT. CCSU fell to Bryant and Wagner in dual-meet action on November 2 and February 1, respectively.
