Christie Leverette Places 6th at ECAC Heptathlon
After the final day of competition at the ECAC heptathlon, Central Connecticut freshman Christie Leverette placed sixth with 4,647 points. She placed third in the javelin portion of the heptathlon on Saturday with a distance of 36.33 meters. Earlier in the day Leverette took eighth in the long jump with a mark of 4.99 meters. For the final event of the competition she placed eighth in the 800 meters, crossing the line in 2:35.06.

Leverette Competes In Day One of ECAC Heptathlon
Freshman Christie Leverette competed in the first day of the heptathlon at the ECAC Championships on Friday. She won the shot put, but is currently in seventh place out of the 11 in competition in Princeton, NJ. The only Central Connecticut student-athlete competing at the championships, Leverette recorded a distance of 11.68 meters to score 640 points in the shot put. She has 2,862 points after day one action and is 418 behind first place heading into Saturday.

Leverette Wins Heptathlon at New England Championships
Freshman Christie Leverette scored 4,617 to win the heptathlon at the New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships at UMass. The two-sport athlete placed second in the long jump and javelin, while placing ninth in the 800 meter portion of the seven event competition. On Friday she recorded two firsts, a second and a fifth place finish to lead Central Connecticut to 21st out of 36 scoring teams in Amherst, MA.

Leverette Leads Heptathlon at New Englands
Freshman Christie Leverette leads the heptathlon after day one of competition at the New England Championships at UMass. She set a personal best score for first day action with 2,841 points. The two-sport athlete won two out of the four individual events and was in the top five in all of them. Leverette, also a member of the Central Connecticut women's basketball team, won the 100 meter hurdles in 15.14 seconds and took first in the shot put, recording a distance of 11.59 meters. She also placed second in the igh ump with a height of 1.56 meters and finished fifth in the 200 with a time of 27.20 seconds.

Underclassmen Pace Women's Track at NEC Championships
Four underclassmen scored points for CCSU during final day of competition at the Northeast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Blue Devils finished in eighth out of the 11 teams competing at Monmouth University. Freshmen Amanda Kelley, Christie Leverette and Amanda Asaro, as well as sophomore Katherine Bossardet scored 26 out of Central Connecticut's 30 points on Sunday.

Jaswell, Kelley Score Points in Day One of Northeast Conference Championships
Senior Megan Jaswell placed sixth in the 10,000 meters, while freshman Amanda Kelley took seventh in both the discus and javelin during the first day of competition at the Northeast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Jaswell crossed the line in 38 minutes and 45.68 seconds to garner three points for the Blue Devils. Kelley picked up four points with throws of 36.44 meters and 33.53 meters in the discus and javelin, respectively. CCSU is currently in eighth place out of eleven teams.

Kelley and Leverette Excel at Yale Springtime Meet
Freshmen Amanda Kelley and Christie Leverette combined for nine top ten finishes as the Central Connecticut women's track and field team competed at the Yale Springtime Meet on Sunday. Kelley placed in all four throwing events, while Leverette spread out her top performances between two jumps, two throws and a track event. The duo took first and second in the javelin throw. Kelley won the event, recording a distance of 36.37 meters, while Leverette was second with a mark of 33.7 meters.

Kelley and Leverette Win Events at Holy Cross Invitational
Freshmen Amanda Kelley and Christie Leverette won events on Saturday as the Central Connecticut women's track and field team placed fourth out of seven teams at the Holy Cross Invitational on Saturday. Kelley took first in the shot put, recording a distance of 12.2 meters, while Leverette put forth a gold medal performance in the high jump, with a mark of 1.65 meters. Leverette won the heptahlon portion of the meet earlier in the week.

Leverette Wins Holy Cross Heptathlon
Two-sport athlete Christie Leverette won the heptathlon portion of the Holy Cross Invitational Track and Field Meet over the course of Wednesday and Thursday. Also a member of the CCSU women's basketball team, the freshman gained 10 points for the Blue Devils, which will compete in the rest of the meet on Saturday. Leverette was first or in a tie for first in three out of the seven individual events and recorded 4,682 points to defeat the other 13 competitors.

Women's Track Competes At UMass
Freshman Amanda Kelley finished sixth or better in all four throwing events as the Central Connecticut women's track and field team finished sixth out of 10 teams at the UMass Spring Meet. She took second in the shot put, fourth in both the javelin and discus, and sixth in the hammer throw.

Women's Track Picked 10th In Outdoor Coache's Poll
The Central Connecticut women's track & field team was selected tenth in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll for the outdoor season, released today. The Blue Devils finished in a tie for 10th out of 11 teams at last year's NEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Women's Track Wins First Outdoor Meet of Year
Sophomore Katherine Bossardet broke the school record in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, winning the event in 11 minutes and 47.99 seconds, while the Central Connecticut women's track and field team won the Emory Track and Field Classic this weekend in Atlanta, GA. The Blue Devils finished the two day event with 58 points, while the host Eagles took second, scoring 49.

Women's Track Finishes Competition at NECs In 10th
The Central Connecticut women's track and field team finished competition in the Northeast Conference Indoor Championships today in 10th place out of 12 teams in Landover, MD. The Blue Devils totaled 18 points and were led by freshman Amanda Kelley, who came away with two top eight performances in the throwing events. Kelley, last week's NEC Rookie and Field Athlete of the Week was third in the weight throw with a mark of 15.6 meters and followed that with an eighth place finish in the shot put, recording a distance of 12.27 meters.

CCSU Competes In Day One of NEC Championships
Freshman Amanda Kelley got the Central Connecticut women's track and field team on the board in day one of the Northeast Conference Championships, recording a third place finish in the weight throw. She recorded a throw of 15.6 meters to grab six points for the Blue Devils. CCSU is currently in eighth place heading into tomorrow's final day action where field events will begin at 12:00 p.m. and the first track event to run at 12:30 p.m.

Amanda Kelley Tabbed Road Runner Sports NEC Rookie and Field Athlete of the Week
Freshman Amanda Kelley broke the school record in the shot put for the fourth time this season and was rewarded by being named the Road Runner Sports Northeast Conference Rookie and Field Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career. Kelley placed second in the event with a distance of 12.16 meters at the Rider/Lafayette Invitational on Friday. The Cumberland, RI native also took second in the weight throw, recording a personal best distance of 15.77 meters.

Women's Track and Field Competes at Rider/Lafayette Invite
Freshman Amanda Kelley broke her own school record in the shot put to place second and recorded a personal best in the weight throw for another second place finish as the Central Connecticut women's track and field team competed at the Rider/Lafayetee Invitational at the Armory Track and Field Center in New York, NY. Kelley recorded a distance of 51 feet 9 inches in the weight throw and 39 feet 11.5 inches in the shot put.

Women's Track Finishes Competition at Yale
The Central Connecticut women's track and field team finished competition at the Yale Giegengack Invitational on Saturday. Three freshmen competed for the Blue Devils in their second to last meet before the Northeast Conference Championships. Amanda Prescott competed in the triple jump, while Katrina Ainsworth and Kate McGuire participated in the 60 meter hurdles and 500 meter run, respectively. Prescott recorded a distance of 10.26 meters to place 11th in the triple. Ainsworth placed 18th in the hurdles with a time of 10.22 seconds, while McGuire took home 13th in the 500 with a time of 1:22.31. CCSU will compete in the Indoor Track Winter Games in Long Island, NY on Friday February 13.

Blue Devils Compete in Day One of Yale Invitational
The Central Connecticut women's track and field team competed in the first day of the Yale Giegengack Invitational on Friday evening. Six Blue Devils put forth individual performances, while a relay team competed in the distance medley. Freshman Amanda Kelley placed fourth in the weight throw (15.0 meters), while junior Samantha Binette performed to a season-best in the long jump, distancing 4.6 meters. CCSU will continue competition on Saturday starting at 9:30 a.m.

CCSU Women's Track & Field Compete at URI
Six different athletes recorded top five finishes while the Central Connecticut women's indoor track and field team competed at the URI Track Invitational on Saturday. Freshman Amanda Kelley placed second in the shot put, recording a distance of 11.76 meters, and was fourth in the weight throw, distancing 14.38 meters.

Amanda Kelley Continues To Break Records, CCSU Competes at Terrier Invite
Freshman phenom Amanda Kelley broke her own school record in the shot put once again, while the Central Connecticut women's indoor track and field team competed in the Terrier Invitational at Boston University. Kelley was the top athlete for the Blue Devils on Friday, placing 11th in the shot put with a distance of 12 meters. She also took home ninth in the weight throw, recording a toss of 15.16 meters.

Kelley Breaks Own School Record, CCSU Competes at URI
Freshman standout Amanda Kelley broke her own school record in the shot put, while the Central Connecticut women's track and field team competed in the Sorlein Invitational at the University of Rhode Island. Kelley recorded a distance of 39 ft. 1 in. and placed fourth in the event. She also placed fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 48 ft. 10.75 in.

The Central Connecticut women's indoor track & field team was selected tenth in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, released today. The Blue Devils finished 10th out of 11 teams at last year's NEC Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Amanda Kelley Sets School Record, Blue Devils Compete at Northeastern
Freshman Amanda Kelley set a school record in the shot put, while the Central Connecticut women's track and field team competed at the Northeastern Husky Track and Field Carnival on Saturday. Kelley recorded a distance of 38 feet, six and one quarter inches to place eighth in the event. The Blue Devil freshman also placed fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 46 ft. 6.75 in.
