The Central Connecticut women's indoor track & field team was selected tenth in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, released today. The Blue Devils finished 10th out of 11 teams at last year's NEC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Monmouth was selected to finish first by the coaches for the fifth year in a row. The Hawks, last season's indoor champions, received nine of the twelve first place votes. Sacred Heart received the other three first place votes, but fell behind Long Island in the overall vote to place third.
St. Francis (PA) and Mount St. Mary's round out the top five in the poll, while Mount St. Mary's, Quinnipiac, Wagner and FDU represent the six through nine spots. The Blue Devils are next, beating out NEC newcomer Bryant and St. Francis (NY), who finish 11th and 12th, respectively.

Track & Field Championships is Megan Jaswell. The senior
placed sixth in last year's 5,000m run in a time of 18:43.45.
Jaswell also ran to a 10th place finish in the 10,000m.
CCSU just finished up competition at the Northeastern Husky Track & Field Carnival and will next be in action after the break. The Blue Devils will in the Sorlein Invitational at Rhode Island on Friday January 16.
