Bossardet Leads Women's Track at NEC Championships
Junior Katherine Bossardet led the team with a third place finish in the 3,000 meter steeplechase as the Central Connecticut women's track and field team competed in the final day of the Northeast Conference Outdoor Championships on Sunday. Bossardet recorded a time of 11:31.94 in the event, while the Blue Devils placed 10th with 29 team points.

Women's Track Competes In Day One of NEC Championships
Sophomore Amy Sanjurjo led the Central Connecticut women's track and field team during first day action at the Northeast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday. Sanjurjo qualified for Sunday's action in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes. The Blue Devils finished Saturday in 11th place with five total points.

Women's Track Competes at Yale Springtime Invite
Freshman Nablissa Lomotey led the Central Connecticut women's track and field team at the Yale Springtime Invitational on Sunday. She won the javelin with a throw of 127 feet. The 4x100 meter Blue Devil relay team also highlighted the day with a third place finish. The team of senior Samantha Binette, freshman Rachel Dombroski, freshman Dara Edge and sophomore Amy Sanjurjo recorded a time of 49.47 seconds.

Women's Track Places Fourth at Holy Cross
Sophomores Amy Sanjurjo and Amanda Kelley each won events on Sunday as the Central Connecticut women's track and field team placed fourth out of six teams at Holy Cross. Sanjurjo won the long jump with a distance of 16 feet 1.75 inches, while Kelley recorded a mark of 41 feet 4.5 inches to take the shot put. The Blue Devils finished with a team score of 87 to place fourth in the meet.

Women's Track Places Sixth at UMass
The Central Connecticut State University women's track and field team competed at the UMass Invitational on Saturday. The Blue Devils placed ninth out of 12 teams with a team score of 54. The host Minutemen won the meet with a score of 167.5, edging out Albany and Boston College who scored 153 and 120, respectively.

Sanjurjo Leads CCSU at UConn Invitational
Sophomore Amy Sanjurjo placed in the top six in three different events as the Central Connecticut women's track and field team took fourth out of six teams at the UConn Invitational on Saturday. Sanjurjo placed third in long jump and 100 meter dash with marks of 18 feet 0.25 inches and 12.45 seconds, respectively. She also took sixth place in the 200 meter dash after recording a time of 26.31 seconds.

Central Finishes Competition at NEC Championships
Sophomores Amanda Kelley and Kate McGuire led the way as the Central Connecticut State University women's track and field team finished competition at the Northeast Conference Championships on Sunday. The two student-athletes took fifth place in the weight throw and 500 meters, respectively. The Blue Devils scored 12 points to finish the meet in 12th place.

Women's Track Competes in Day One Action at Northeast Conference Championships
Central Connecticut State University competed in the first day of action at the Northeast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday. The Blue Devils finished the day in 12th place, scoring two points. Sophomore Amanda Kelley scored the points for CCSU, placing seventh in the shot put with a distance of 41 feet 2.25 inches.

Northeast Conference Honors Central's Kelley
Sophomore Amanda Kelley earned Roadrunner Sports/Northeast Conference Co-Field Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Lafayette-Rider Winter Games this weekend. Kelley broke the CCSU school record in the weight throw with a mark of 53 feet, 3.5 inches on her way to winning the event. The sophomore also placed third in the shot put with a distance of 12.90 meters.

Kelley Leads Central at Lafayette Rider Games
Sophomore Amanda Kelley broke the school record in the weight throw in her second straight competition, as Central Connecticut State University competed at the Lafayette Rider Winter Games on Friday. Kelley won the event with a distance of 16.24 meters, topping her previous school record of 16.14 meters set at the Boston Indoor Games. She also added a third place finish in the shot put, recording a distance of 12.90 meters.

Women's Track Competes In Day Two of Yale Invite
The Central Connecticut State University women's track and field team finished competition at the Yale Giegengack Invitational this afternoon. Freshman Dara Edge led the Blue Devils with a ninth place finish in the 60 meter hurdles, recording a time of 9.53 seconds. Edge also placed 10th in the triple jump with a distance of 34 feet, 1 inch.

Sanjurjo Shines At Day One of Giegengack Invitational
Sophomore Amy Sanjurjo broke the school record in the long jump for the second time this season as the Central Connecticut State University women's track and field team competed in the first day of competition at the Yale Giegengack Invitational on Friday. Sanjurjo placed third with a mark of 18 feet, 3.75 inches. Her distance on Friday tied her for the best jump this season in the Northeast Conference.

Records Fall For Women's Track at Boston Indoor Games
Amanda Kelley broke the 14 year old weight throw school record as Central Connecticut State University placed 10th out of 17 scoring teams at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games on Friday. The sophomore recorded a distance of 52 feet 11.5 inches to place fifth in the event. Kelley broke Nancy Wenzel's mark of 52'4' set in 1996. The Cumberland, RI native also broke her own CCSU record in the shot put, breaking the record for the seventh time in her career. Her distance of 43'10.75' placed her fourth in the event.

Sanjurjo Breaks School Record at URI Invitational
Sophomore Amy Sanjurjo broke the nine year old school record in the long jump as the Central Connecticut State University women's track and field team competed at the URI Invitational on Saturday. Sanjurjo's jump of 18 feet 1.5 inches placed her third in the meet. The Blue Devils' previous best was 17' 1.5' by Nicole Dumpson in 2001.

Kelley Breaks Shot Put Record at Sorlein Invitational
Sophomore Amanda Kelley broke her own school record in the shot put, while the Central Connecticut State University women's track and field team competed in its first meet of the new year at the Sorlein Invitational. Kelley recorded a distance of 13.01 meters to place first in the event. She shattered her old record of 12.27 meters, set at last season's Northeast Conference Championship meet. The Cumberland, RI native also won the weight throw with a distance of 15.76 meters.

Women's Track Selected 10th In NEC Poll
The Central Connecticut women's indoor track & field team was selected 10th out of 12 teams in the Northeast Conference #$%^Preseason Coaches' Poll, released today. 10th is exactly where the Blue Devils finished at last season's NEC Indoor Track & #$%^Field Championships.

Sophomore Amanda Kelley placed in the top five in two events, while the Central Connecticut women's track and field team competed at the Jay Carisella Invitational to start the indoor season on Saturday. Freshman Dara Edge also broke the CCSU school record in the 55 meter hurdles.
