Sophomore Amanda Kelley earned Roadrunner Sports/Northeast Conference Co-Field Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Lafayette-Rider Winter Games this weekend. Kelley broke the CCSU school record in the weight throw with a mark of 16.24 meters on her way to winning the event. The sophomore also placed third in the shot put with a distance of 12.90 meters.
Kelley broke the program's weight throw record in her second consecutive competition. She set a mark of 16.14 meters two weeks ago at the Boston Indoor Games. Kelley earned her first ever NEC Weekly honor the week before the conference championship a year ago, garnering Rookie of the Week honors. This season she adds Co-Field Athlete of the week accolades to her resumé the week before the league meet.
