Central Connecticut junior Amy Sanjurjo led the women's track team on day one at the Giegengack Invitational. Sanjurjo competed in the 200 meters and the long jump on Friday.
Sanjurjo earned a ninth place finish in the 200 meters with a speedy time of 26.11 seconds. In the long jump she cleared 4.97 meters to finish in 11th.
Sophomore Nablissa Lomotey earned a 12th place finish in the high jump by clearing 1.45 meters.
Day Two of Giegengack
Central Connecticut junior Amy Sanjurjo and sophomore Shanakaye Staple reached the finals of the 60 meter dash on day two at the Giegengack Invitational. Freshman Elizabeth Eberhardt also earned a top-10 finish with her performance in the one mile run.
Sanjurjo earned a third place finish with a 7.89 second victory. Staple was close behind finishing sixth with a 7.92 performance.
Eberhardt finished eighth in the one mile run with a time of 5:10.58.
The Blue Devils will return to action on Feb. 12, at the NEC Championships.
