Central Connecticut freshman Elizabeth Eberhardt earned Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week Honors for her performance over the weekend. Eberhardt ran the mile at Yale's Giegengack Invitational earning an eighth place finish in the event.
Eberhardt moved up to fifth on the NEC performance list by running the fastest mile of any NEC freshman this season. The rookie miler scored an eighth-place finish at Yale's Giegengack Invitational, crossing the line in 5:10.58.
The time moved Eberhardt in front of Robert Morris rookie Merel Van Steenbergen (5:11.10) heading into this week's conference championship meet. The first-year Blue Devil has competed in the mile run on four occasions this season and has proceeded to set a seasonal best during each outing.
Eberhardt and the Blue Devils return to action this week at the Northeast Conference Championships.
