The Central Connecticut women's track team finished 24 at the 2011 New England Championships. The Blue Devil women were led by Amanda Asaro who set a new CCSU record for the mile.
Junior Amy Sanjurjo earned the Blue Devils point with a sixth place finish in the 60 meter dash. She turned in a 7.89 second performance in the finals.
Asaro's record setting performance came in the mile. She ran a school record time of 5:07.60 in route to a 12th place finish.
Senior Katherine Bossardet also scored points for Central finishing seventh in the 5,000 meter event. She ran a 17:52.89, finishing four seconds ahead of the next runner.
The Blue Devils will return to action at the IC4A Championship next weekend.
