CCSU finishes the regular season at 18-14 with a 12-4 Northeast Conference record. The Terriers fall to 4-22 on the season and 3-13 in NEC play. The Blue Devils will compete in the NEC Tournament next weekend at Long Island. They will face off against Sacred Heart in the semifinal match.
Central dropped the first set on Sunday, 22-25, and then won the next three to leave St. Francis with the 3-1 victory. The Blue Devils slow start was due in part to inconsistent hitting. CCSU recorded a hitting percentage of only .088 in the first set, before recording marks of .300, .257 and .231 in the next three.
Senior captain Jamie Baumert and sophomore Sara DeLacey recorded six blocks each, while sophomore Danielle Gasser tallied four of her own. DeLacey finished the match with 10 kills and Baumert recorded eight. Gasser had a match-best 44 assist to go along with seven digs. Junior Kaitlin Petrella led the Blue Devils in digs with 17.
Anisa Lila led St. Francis with a match high 15 kills, while Liliana Rodriguez totaled a match-best 28 digs in the defeat.
