The Central Connecticut Volleyball team fell to Robert Morris on Saturday evening in five sets. The Blue Devils fall to 7-15 on the season and 4-6 in NEC action with the loss. Sophomore Blaike King had 16 kills for the Blue Devils.
The Blue Devils dropped the first two sets to Robert Morris 25-23 and 25-22, but the Blue Devils would not quit. Winning the third set 25-18 before dominating the Colonials in the fourth set.
The Blue Devils dominated ther entire fourth set jumping out to an early lead, and then pulling away for a 25-10 victory. The set was highlighted by the serving of sophomore Emily Cochran and senior Amanda Bayer. Sara Delacy had to huge blocks as Central dominated play at the net.
However, the Blue Devils fell in the fifth set 15-9 as the Colonials stepped up their defense and delivered several key attacks.
Bayer had a match high 51 assists, Cochran had 13 digs, and sophomore Blaike King Delivered 16 kills for the Blue Devils.
The volleyball team returns to action on Sunday, against St. Francis (PA) at 4:30 p.m. The game will be played at St. Joseph's College in West Hartford, CT.
