The Central Connecticut volleyball team dropped to 15-11 overall and 10-3 in Northeast Conference play with a 3-1 loss on the road at Robert Morris on Saturday afternoon. The Colonials won both games vs. the Blue Devils and would hold the tie-breaker against the Blue Devils.
Much like the first time these two teams met in New Britain, all four sets were close. Robert Morris took the first set 25-18, but the final three sets of match were all decided by two points.
The Colonials took the second set, 25-23, before the Blue Devils rebounded to win the third set 26-24. Robert Morris took the final set 25-23 to improve to 12-14 overall and 8-2 in NEC play.
Senior Emily Cochran, the team's leader in kills, posted 22 in the match against only seven errors. She hit .263 for the match and added eight digs. Classmate Blaike King had 14 kills.
Senior Allyson Porter had a team-high 26 digs to lead the defense. Freshman Ashley Lenington added 17 digs. Classmate Makenna Lommori led the offense with 50 assists.
The Blue Devils are back in action at home on Saturday hosting LIU Brooklyn at 1 p.m. in Detrick Gym. Fans can watch the game live on NEC Front Row.
